Our Favorite Nugget Couch Configurations
These nugget couches are all the rage, but if your creativity is running dry, here are our favorite nugget couch configurations with only 1 nugget!

HOW TO
7 of the Best Nugget Configuration Ideas
I’m sure by now you’ve heard of a Nugget Couch, but in case you haven’t, allow me.
They’re furniture that’s designed for your little ones to play on, throw at each other, build with, dance on …. you get the point.

We finally bit the bullet and bought one (which was quickly followed by another one this past Christmas) and they’re still the most used “toy” we have in our entire house.
With only one Nugget, it can be difficult to get creative and find the right layout to maximize your fun. But don’t worry – I’ve got some great ideas that will help you make the most of your Nugget couch!
These are tried and true by our kids who are currently almost 8, almost 5, and almost 2. And they’re BANANAS.
The kids, not the couches.

The Hammock

This is Charlotte’s favorite configuration.
And if I’m being honest with myself, it’s mine too!

We BOTH love to set this hammock configuration out and curl up with a good book and tune the rest of the crazies out.
The Gymnastics (or wrestling or dance) Mat

If the kids are being rough and I can tell they want to be physical, I’ll lay these out side by side (even though they’re not the same thickness) and just give them boundaries.
“You can wrestle, but you have to stay on the mat.”
But if you have a little one who takes dance or gymnastics and wants to practice their flips or rolls, this Nugget configuration will be perfect for you!
The Mini House
There are technically 2 ways we like to do this one.

The first is built so that you can crawl in from either side.
Charlotte is super tall for her age but is still able to crawl back and forth within this one and she loves it, but I would say it’s perfect for people 4 or under like our youngest 2 at the moment.

The second configuration actually uses one of the wedges of the Nugget couch to hold up the back so you only have one way to enter and exit. This is good if they want to be more “hidden” from plain view.
The Couch
This Nugget couch configuration is probably the most obvious and easiest to set up.

You stack them on top of each other and use the wedges for the back rest – honestly just do whatever works for your space and make it cozy! Your kids will love having a “grownup-like” setup in their playroom or living room.
The Slide
The slide Nugget configuration is always a fan favorite over here in the Smith house.

We lay one side of the Nugget on the ground and then prop up the other side on the couch. Sometimes depending on the day, we will add one of the wedges behind it to make it more sturdy.
This can take some trial and error depending on how high you want the slide, but this is a great way to get creative.
The Car Ramp
Topping Josiah’s list as one of his favorites is the ramp.

Let’s be honest, this is essentially the slide, but instead of your body, you just roll whatever you want with wheels down said ramp. The kids’ll love it.
The Castle
I personally love this configuration. It’s so fun!

I will say that with weight limits, this is probably only good if you have little ones, but Collins loves climbing up this and sitting under the tend and then she will get on her tummy and slide right on down.
Bonus: The Crash Pad
We often call the Nugget couch our crash pad because more often than not, they’re just stacked together and Josiah jumps from the couch to the Nuggets and vice versa.
Mom Bonus: The Cage
If you have one that’s not quite crawling and needs a place to be enclosed, I like to set the nuggets up on their side to make a square and so the babe has a safe place to play but can’t get too far.
Once they’re crawling or climbing, you’re out of luck because they’ll just push this right over and your new motherhood journey of chasing all over the world will begin.

From the Nugget couch hammock to the Nugget crash pad, there are plenty of ways to maximize your Nugget for fun and entertainment.
Whether you have little ones that need a safe place to play or older kids who want something more physical, these Nugget configurations are sure to bring smiles all around!

With just one nugget, it can be hard to come up with creative ideas – but now you’ve got some great tips from yours truly on how we make use of ours every single day!
