8 stylish storage baskets for your home. These are great options for organizing your laundry room, closets, or pantry. These options will help you keep things neat and tidy while adding to your home decor
I think I said this on Instagram at some point (I don’t know what I say in my head and what I tell the world nowadays) but I apparently have realized I am the pickiest human being when it comes to baskets.
You should just know that if there is a decorative basket or some sort of storage box or even a laundry hamper in my house it is absolutely because I love it. I’m either that picky or there just aren’t enough options out there.
Regardless, I feel like once I get good and stylish storage baskets somewhere, I can breathe easier.
I’ve spent serious hours on the internet trying to find the right basket to jump out at me. At first, I was looking at budget friendly places like Walmart or Target (mainly because I got some Target gift cards burning a hole in my pocket at the moment) but nada.
Well, I take that back, I do have one that I love in this list from Target, but I’m still not 100% sold on it either.
Anyhoo, you take a look and see what I’ve found.

Types of Decorative Storage
Woven storage baskets
There are so many woven decorative storage basket options. Almost too many. Woven, water hyacinth, wicker, and the list goes on. The problem is I have a very specific light color in mind for our closet makeover and so far, I haven’t found any that I love. I really like the fact that they have lids because it will help tame the clutter and would be great for holding cleaning supplies discreetly. We actually have some like these very similar in our living room sans the lid.
Storage bins with lids
I actually love both of these storage box options. They’re both from The Container Store and while I love the idea of the clear plastic, they come in sets and I just need 2 big ones (that’s what she said). I love the charcoal ones, but with the black and white wallpaper, I’m afraid it will clash.
These actually may be really good closet organizers though so even if we don’t use them in our cleaning closet, we may use them in our master bedroom closet.
Black wire storage baskets
We’re cooking with these options. I like the idea of a black wire basket, but I also don’t want it to look cheap. Am I annoying you with my needs yet?
Basket with handles or no handles?
Do you guys like handles on things? I plan on taking these baskets in and out of the closet pretty frequently since it will house my cleaning supplies, but I’m not sure if I want it or not.
Because I’m sure you think I’m absolute neurotic at this point, lemme give you a quick run down of what I’m actually looking for in a basket and then YOU PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS HOLY HELP MEEEEEEE.
- Square, not round. So no rope baskets or anything.
- I don’t want the “storage cubes” type of storage bins (meaning no fabric, nothing with those grommet type handles). Too flimsy for ya girl.
- I really want cane in the basket somehow, but I found one and it was $50 for one and it was out of stock. HA! No thanks.
- I love woven baskets – wicker baskets, water hyacinth, woven, whatever. But, shocker, I’m picky about the color of them.
I know there’s so many more important things going on in the world right now, but as I’m trying to keep things as normal as possible, this is for sure something I’m trying to get done.
