Greige Cabinets in the Kitchen
We are well underway in our own kitchen renovation and I am here to officially say that I let Jordan talk me in to having greige kitchen cabinets.
Admittedly, I was not on board at first because I really had my heart set on dark green kitchen cabinets.
After rounding up all the gorgeous dark green paint colors, I saw this and fell in love.
But the more I looked at greige kitchen cabinets, the more I realized that they could be gorgeous too.
Will Greige Cabinets Go Out of Style?
When referring to style, it depends on who you ask. If you are looking at trends as told by magazines and designers, colors will ebb and flow.
Mauve was huge in the 80s. Then it was considered horrific and outdated in the 2000s. Now, as of very recently, the mauve aesthetic has come back in a resurgence that has glam and style written all over it.
Greige kitchen cabinets have come and gone in style. They were big a few years ago and then they kind of faded and they are back now again.
Hear me when I say this – greige cabinets will go out of style in your home when you want them to.
What Colors Go Well with Greige?
That’s the best part about greige cabinets. Because they’re so versatile and because you have such a variety of shades, you can really choose any wall color and make it work.
You could do a color like Benjamin Moore Boothbay Gray if you’re wanting something that has color, but won’t compete with the greige.
If you’re wanting more of a neutral white, you could also choose the color we have in most parts of our house currently which is Sherwin Williams Alabaster.
Greige Kitchen Cabinet Ideas
Sherwin Williams Agreeable Gray
We have used Sherwin Williams Agreeable Gray in multiple rooms in our house. In our house, there are certain times a day where it really seems to show up grey and in other times you can definitely see its warm undertones showing through.

Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter
Another popular mid-tone greige is Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter. The way that these are offset with a dark contrasting island makes the greige appear lighter and lean more gray.
In a more traditional look, the island is also painted in Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter with a fun colorful rug.
Kraftmaid Mushroom
This isn’t a paint color, but the Kraftmaid brand of kitchen cabinets that come in the mushroom tone. It’s a perfect shade of greige for kitchen cabinets and the vintage stove brings in a mix of charm.
Benjamin Moore Natural Cream
It’s really hard to tell in these images because of the filter on them, but this is Benjamin Moore Natural Cream and it’s a gorgeous shade of gray that’s slightly more pigmented than your middle of the road greige paint color.
Benjamin Moore Edgecomb Gray
This is very much the vibe we are going for in our own kitchen. Greige kitchen cabinets with black hardware. Because we can’t choose our paint color, we are at the mercy of our kitchen cabinet store. Our greige will be a bit darker than this, but it’s still going to be a showstopper.
Here, the color on the cabinets is Benjamin Moore Edgecomb Gray which is a neutral, warm greige paint color that would work in any lighting situation.
Rounding out the list of greige kitchen cabinets is this smaller kitchen with a great vintage stove.
This space has a minimalist vibe, and somehow the white stove and sink add warmth to the room.
If you’re on the fence about greige kitchen cabinets, just remember that you’ll want to consider the openness of your kitchen and your window/natural lighting situation.
If you don’t have a lot of natural light, you’ll want to stick to a greige with a higher LRV. If you have a larger space or a space with a lot of windows, don’t be afraid of a darker greige!
Dark colors can warm up a space and not make it feel clunky or heavy.
Regardless of your choice, having greige kitchen cabinets can be a charming and timeless choice for your kitchen!
