Popular Benjamin Moore Colors for Kitchen Cabinets
When it comes to choosing the perfect paint color for your kitchen cabinets, Benjamin Moore offers a wide variety of options to fit your style and taste. Here are some popular paint colors that can elevate your kitchen’s appearance.
White
White kitchens are always a good choice.
I know some people feel like white kitchens feel too cold, but I’m here to tell you it’s just not true. We think white cabinets are a great choice for any size home, especially those with smaller kitchens because it can help it feel bigger and give it a modern look.
Benjamin Moore White Dove is a classic warm white that pairs well with traditional elements such as subway tile or aged brass accents (which are trending right now, in case you’re wondering)
This versatile and calming white paint color creates a clean and timeless look for your cabinets without making it feel too sterile.
Blue
Hale Navy
For a coastal or calming vibe, consider Benjamin Moore Hale Navy on your kitchen cabinets. This deep, rich blue adds a touch of sophistication and can be paired with lighter colors to create a balanced and inviting space.
Boothbay Gray
If you’re looking for a color that has less pigment, but can still bring in the same calming tones, try my absolute favorite paint color – Benjamin Moore Boothbay Gray.
It blends the perfect amount of gray and blue to create an airy but colorful space.
If you don’t want to take the plunge and paint your entire cabinets in the kitchen, maybe try it just on your kitchen island! It’s the perfect color for that.
Light Gray
A soft, light gray like Benjamin Moore Gray Owl is a popular choice for a modern and contemporary look.
We have actually used this on the walls in our guest bathroom lightened to 75% and still love it!
This neutral cool gray paint color complements a variety of other colors and provides a subtle contrast to white countertops and backsplashes.
Dark Gray
Try something like Benjamin Moore Kendall Charcoal on your kitchen cabinets.
When I painted our kitchen cabinets, we chose a Sherwin Williams dark gray for the bottom and I really liked it!
A dark, rich color will create a dramatic and elevated atmosphere in your kitchen that works well for smaller or larger kitchen spaces.
Greige
If you prefer warmer tones, and don’t want to go full gray on your cabinets, consider a greige like our kitchen cabinets. It’s the perfect choice for a mix of a warm gray and beige.
The cabinets in our own kitchen aren’t a specific color since we didn’t paint them, but they’re a greige and I can speak from experience and say that they’re amazing.
The best part is that we have used them in other kitchens in other flip houses with both black or brass hardware and it all looks great.
These versatile greige shades add warmth and coziness to your kitchen while maintaining an elegant and timeless appeal.
Revere Pewter
Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter is a warm grayish-beige that can really brighten up your kitchen.
This color pairs beautifully with wood floors or cabinets and even compliments white quartz countertops and other natural materials like marble.
It also looks amazing with both cool and warm tones, making it a great option for those who want to keep their kitchen palette neutral but with a bit of warmth.
Stonington Gray
If you’re looking for a deeper gray paint color, try Benjamin Moore’s Stonington Gray.
This classic shade has enough color to make your cabinets stand out without overpowering the space and goes great with white marble countertops, white tile backsplashes and even stainless steel appliances.
It also pairs well with navy accents if you are looking to add a touch of color.
Classic Gray
For a classic and sophisticated look, try Benjamin Moore Classic Gray. This shade of greige is both versatile and easy to style, complementing a wide range of color schemes and kitchen themes (beach color palette anyone?)
Dark Green
Bring outdoors inside with a dark green paint color like Benjamin Moore Black Forest Green.Â
If you’ve been around for a bit, you know how much I LOVE dark green paint colors. When you paint something like your kitchen cabinets a darker shade, it can change the entire feel of a space in the best way.
So much so I put it in our girls’ shared room and to this day it’s one of my favorite rooms we’ve done.
But when I saw Benjamin Moore Black Forest Green on cabinets, it took dang near all of my self control not to paint our brand new kitchen cabinets.
It feels so high end, yet so cozy and inviting all at the same time.
NOTE: This color is BLACK Forest Green. Benjamin Moore also has a color called Forest Green which is not the same thing.
The Importance of Sheen and Finish
When selecting a Benjamin Moore cabinet paint color, it’s essential to consider not only the color but also the sheen and finish of the paint. The sheen, or paint finish, affects how much light reflects off the painted surface and thus plays a significant role in the final appearance of your cabinets.
Semi Gloss
Semi-gloss is a popular sheen choice for cabinets, as it offers a balance between shine and durability. This finish is easy to clean and maintain, making it perfect for high-traffic areas like the kitchen.
Satin
A satin finish is a more subtle option, which is what we prefer. It offers a slightly lower level of gloss than semi-gloss.
This finish is favored for its smooth, elegant appearance, as well as its durability and ease of cleaning.
We don’t recommend anything over a semi-gloss because you don’t want your cabinets shiny. It makes it appear dated and inexpensive looking.
Regardless of what color you choose, it’s crucial to use a high-quality primer to prepare your cabinets for the paint. A good primer helps the paint adhere better and provides an even base for the final coat, resulting in a lasting, durable finish.
Remember to consider your kitchen’s layout, natural light, and your personal preferences when choosing the right color for your cabinets and always (always) try a sample and live with it in your space before you make a final decision.
Y’all know my favorite way to try samples is with Samplize because their peel and stick paint samples use several layers of the actual paint color on their samples and they are so easy to install!
With these popular Benjamin Moore cabinet paint colors, you can easily transform your kitchen into a space you’ll love for years to come.
